The Great Thanksgiving

[Official content pending. Some notes for reflection provided below.]

Take a moment to reflect and remember over a meal the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

God gave us the gift of his Son. This is proof that God both overcomes death and every conceivable hurt, harm, and danger. This also proves that we are loved, because his sacrifice paid a price we could never afford and the power shown put God at the forefront of our hearts and minds as one who will be with us and for us no matter what.

Celebrate this gift of life when you eat remembering the body that was broken and bruised yet rose again.

Celebrate this gift of life when you drink remember that blood has to be poured out in order for us to have the opportunity to live life to the fullest.

If you are leading The Great Thanksgiving with your congregation, you will find a continuation of the serve of word and table as briefly referenced early in this worship experience with our confession and pardon on page 8 of The United Methodist Hymnal.
